History of First UMC Franklin

Quick Facts about our church

• 2005 was our 185th anniversary
• 1830 - Jesse Siler personally financed and built the first church building.
• 1835 – Governor Swain deeded a tract of land to the trustees of the church.
• The current building is the third church built on the site.
• Our church has been and is a leader in missions and youth ministry in our community.
• The Spirit of the living God guides us as we seek to serve Him as Lord of our lives.
• We have met the grace of God in our Lord Jesus, and His love continues to motivate us to serve Him with gratitude and thanksgiving.
